We Were Hybrid…Before Hybrid Was Cool!

Hybrid meetings aren’t new to us at Lead Dog Meeting & Event Management.  In fact, we’ve been managing an event for one of our clients for nearly twenty years, and a hybrid component was added five years ago. Let’s look at how successful hybrid meetings can be… here’s our story!

Our client, in this case, is a large company with well over 100,000 employees nationwide.  This event is held annually in Florida and is a multi-layered event that has several components.

This premier employee event serves as an employee appreciation event, has a business component, and contains an education component for employees. Among the 600 people in attendance in-person are front-line employees, support personnel, corporate leadership and C-Suite executives. It is a week-long event with a leadership conference, meetings and social events.

 It’s Game Time!

 The highlight of the week is a two-day game show style competition – an event that really gets the audience involved.  After preliminary rounds, the final, one-hour championship round is broadcast live to the entire company.  It’s a big deal to those employees back home, who get to feel the energy from the live audience and create their own, too, cheering for their favorite competitors.  Watch kits with pom-poms, noisemakers and balloons get the hybrid attendees involved, and it’s game on at work for this part of the day!

Our Role in All This

 This type of event is right up our alley!  We are always up for a challenge and love being able to orchestrate fun and flair into an event!  In our capacity as the event managers for our client, we handle many aspects of the event, ensuring smooth execution when it's time for our clients to shine.

The one-hour broadcast takes weeks of coordination and planning – to ensure a great experience for both live and hybrid participants.  Timing, content and production needs all have to be orchestrated to pull this off successfully.

 The Future of Hybrid and Virtual Meetings

 Partnering with a large company on this event allows us to demonstrate our wide range of skills in large-event planning.  As our economy slowly opens up, plenty of meetings will include hybrid components.  Leveraging our expertise in this area will ensure that you can still achieve your event goals without putting employees or members at risk.
